New DRE/SHIFT programme
Have you produced any photographic exhibitions, drama productions, short films, music and songs, poetry, pod casts and art work which highlight mental health issues within Black and Minority Ethnic Communities?
We are pleased to announce that the SHIFT and Delivering Race Equality Programmes (part of CSIP, NIMHE and the Department of Health) are collaborating to develop an innovative programme of work on Media and Race Equality issues.
The purpose of this collaboration is to create a range of tools which can be used to reduce stigma and to promote positive messages about Mental Health within the media and local communities. These would include a range of media such as photographic exhibitions, drama productions, short films or DVDs, music and songs, poetry, pod casts and art work. One of our aims is to ensure that a range of languages, cultures and communities are represented in this work.
We are keen to build on local successes and are therefore looking for examples of creative media projects which have been completed within the last 2 years. If you have examples you can share, please complete the attached form to outline the work you have completed.
After assessing all applications, we will select a range of projects who will receive offers of further support. This may range from marketing and dissemination advice, developing information or training materials to accompany the work, supporting the roll out of a drama production or developing translated versions of materials. Any use of the materials will be negotiated with the named contacts provided.
If you are interested, please send completed applications to:
